The intent of this 2-day workshop is to equip learners with the Emotional Intelligence (EQ) Leadership Coaching skills to coach at the transformational level. This course is eligible for SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) WSQ Funding for participants who are Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Description
Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is becoming a critical skill for leaders. Research has shown that 90% of high performers possess high emotional intelligence. Traditionally, many managers have been promoted because of their technical/functional skills and for their dedicated service to their organisations. However, with a newer generation of younger and more diversified group of employees, many of these leaders who are not trained in EQ skills, face difficulties in engaging and motivating their employees to perform.
Emotional Intelligence is the ability to understand and manage our own emotions, and the emotions of others around us. It is a set of emotional, social and relational skills that guides the way we perceive, understand and express ourselves; connect with others; manage interpersonal communication and cope with challenges. EQ skills can be learned, developed and augmented.
Emotional Intelligent Leaders are fully aware of their own emotions and are able to maintain composure and presence in challenging situations. They are able to articulate their thoughts, recognise the emotions in others and to provide feedback. High EQ leaders are able to coach, facilitate change and resolve conflicts among team members leading to greater team performance.
This is a blended learning course which consist of:-
- Pre-course self-paced eLearning session,
- EIQ2 self-assessment survey and
- 2 days facilitated classroom session cum assessment

After the course, I gained lots of clarity, especially on how EQ plays an important role in one's life. “I realize how powerful it is to help the coachee understand the emotional quotient at play. That evening after I finished the workshop, I applied what I learnt in a personal coaching practice with a friend who felt "stuck" and fearful about what was expected of her job and she wanted to get from our conversation, what could her next step be. At the end of the coaching session, she said she was clearer why she was feeling fearful, she felt she understood herself better, she felt more positive and energized to be able to consider the options that she surfaced during the coaching conversation. I felt happy for her and encouraged that what I have learnt could help someone. Thank you Eng Neo and Laurence for being such great teachers (and coaches)” Learning Consultant
