The intent of this 2-day workshop is to equip learners with the Self-Mastery skills in coaching to achieve mental well-being in the workplace and to build team resilience. This course is eligible for SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) WSQ Funding for participants who are Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Description
Mental well-being is a growing concern in organisation across many industries. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), a healthy state of mental well-being can contribute to improved productivity. Work stress and a negative work environment can lead to physical and mental health challenges, leading to decreased productivity.
Recent studies have highlighted the widespread and persistent symptoms of distress, depression and anxiety in the workplace. Approximately one in four respondents reported signs of burnout because of “toxic” behaviour in the work environment. These researches have gone on to highlight the importance for the employer and leaders to build an inclusive, sustainable and supportive environment for individual learning and growth.
Self-Mastery in leadership is our ability to master our emotions, attention, thoughts, motivation and actions to achieve our goals in life. The objective of this course is to equip learners especially senior management and leaders with the Self-Mastery skills specifically in Coaching for mental well-being in the workplace. It involves the understanding of self-acceptance, self-esteem, compassion, developing one’s inner strength to manage stress and building resilience to overcome challenges. Ultimately, this will translate to a more positive work culture, resulting in improved productivity. It will also help to reduce employee attrition rates, burnouts, sick leave and absenteeism.
This is a blended learning course which consist of:
- Pre-course self-paced eLearning session,
- 2 days facilitated classroom session cum assessment
This course uses Positive Psychology and Advanced Coaching Principles in its approach to enable learners with practical and scientifically proven interventions. Positive Psychology is a scientific study, development and application of positive interventions aimed at increasing well-being. The Coaching competencies are aligned to the International Coaching Federation (ICF), a global organisation that sets the guidelines and standards for coaching.
COURSE OBJECTIVE
The objective of this course is to equip learners with the Self-Mastery skills in coaching for mental well-being in the workplace and to build team resilience. Using both Positive Psychology and Advanced coaching approaches, learners will be more knowledgeable about the human characteristics for optimal well-being, how to leverage on individual’s strength for improved performance and work-life balance. They will develop confidence in having coaching conversations with their employees in managing stress and building resilience.

Our Training methodology is based on Adult learning principles and hence, emphasizes on experiential learning activities, small group and class interactions as well as skills-based practices during the workshop. This methodology accelerates adult learning, retention and brings forth the application/relevance to real-life situations. Equally important, the workshop is engaging and enjoyable for the participants.
The content of this “Self-Mastery in Coaching for Mental Well-Being with Positive Psychology” workshop is based on the Core Coaching Competencies outlined by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), which is a global organisation that sets the standards and guidelines for the coaching community. Our facilitators are ICF certified coaches with more than twenty years of senior leadership experience.
This course is approved under International Coaching Federation, ICF Continuing Coach Education (CCE) program.
Participants will receive 20 CCE Units (Core Competencies: 17 hours and Resource Development: 3 hours).

TARGET AUDIENCE
Formal/Informal Leaders who engage and motivate team members to higher levels of performance. These include Business Leaders, Directors, Managers and HR Leaders.
Participants are expected to be fluent in spoken and written English, preferably with a Diploma/Degree qualification. Ideally, participants should have at least 5 years of work experience with at least one year of supervisory/managerial experience.
Participants are expected to have completed International Coaching Federation (ICF) accredited coaching courses (Level 1/ACSTH) prior to attending this advanced module.
